Privacy Policy

What we collect, what we do not, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated: 17 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how What Stars Say LLC (we, us, our) handles information when you visit whatstarssay.com (the Site). We have tried to write it in plain English rather than in legal boilerplate.

The short version: the date of birth you type into our calculator is processed entirely inside your own browser. It is never sent to us, and we never store it. We run no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no third-party trackers on this Site.

1. Your date of birth stays in your browser

Our calculator runs as client-side code. When you enter a date of birth, the calculation happens on your own device and the result is rendered there. That value is not transmitted to our servers, not written to any database, and not shared with anyone. Close or reload the tab and it is gone.

Because we never receive it, we cannot look it up, disclose it, sell it, or hand it over in response to a request. This is a deliberate design decision.

2. Information we do collect

No analytics or advertising trackers

We do not run Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or any other third-party tracking on this Site. We do not profile you, and we do not build an audience list from your visit.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical logs, which typically include IP address, user agent, referring page, and timestamp. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing faults.

Information you send us

If you email or call us, we hold what you choose to send: your name, your contact details, and the contents of your message. We use it only to answer you.

3. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Legal bases (UK/EU visitors)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests for keeping the Site secure and functioning, and for answering correspondence you initiate; and legal obligation where the law requires us to retain or disclose something. Because we do not run analytics or advertising trackers, we do not ask you for consent to set non-essential cookies.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This Site does not set any advertising or analytics cookies. The only browser storage we use is local storage needed to keep the interface working during your visit, which stays on your device and is not sent to us.

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. The calculator will still work.

6. Sharing and disclosure

We share information only with: service providers who host the Site, acting on our instructions; professional advisers where necessary; authorities where we are legally required to disclose; and an acquirer, if our business is ever sold or reorganised. In each case we share the minimum necessary.

7. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where information is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on the safeguards offered by the relevant provider, such as standard contractual clauses.

8. Retention

Server logs are kept for a short period for security and diagnostics. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a reasonable record of it. We do not retain calculator inputs at all, because we never receive them.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; object to or restrict our processing; request a portable copy; and withdraw consent at any time. If you are in California, you may also have rights to know about and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any right, email contact@whatstarssay.com. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Please note that because we do not collect your date of birth, there is nothing for us to return or erase in relation to a calculation you performed.

If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we hold. No website or internet transmission is ever completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keeping the calculator client-side is part of how we reduce that risk: information we never hold cannot be breached.

11. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for interpreting it, but the point is largely moot here: we run no analytics or advertising trackers, so there is no cross-site tracking on this Site to switch off.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version takes effect when posted here, and the Last updated date above will change. If we make a material change, we will make that clear on this page.
