About Us
We build free, honest calculators that turn a date of birth into a clearer view of the road ahead.

Who we are
What Stars Say LLC is a small independent software company based in Los Angeles, California. We build free web tools that help people make sense of time: how much of it has passed, how much a statistical average suggests may lie ahead, and what that perspective might mean for the choices made today.
What Stars Say started from a simple observation. Almost everyone has wondered how long they might live, but the honest answer is genuinely interesting rather than morbid. Life expectancy is a population average, not a personal verdict, and understanding that difference is the point of everything we publish.
What we build
Our flagship tool is the What Stars Say lifespan and age calculator. You enter a date of birth, and the tool returns your current age together with an estimate of your projected lifespan drawn from published average life-expectancy data.
Everything we build follows the same three rules:
- Free and unrestricted. No account, no paywall, no email capture. Open the page, enter a date, get an answer.
- Private by default. The calculator runs entirely inside your browser. Your date of birth is never transmitted to us or stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.
- Honest about uncertainty. We would rather tell you what a number cannot do than oversell what it can.
How the calculator works
The estimate has one ingredient, and we think it is worth being blunt about that: published average life-expectancy figures, which describe how long people in large populations tend to live. We apply those figures to the date you enter. That is the whole method.
We keep the number and the advice clearly separated, because they are not the same kind of claim. The lifespan figure is a measured statistic about groups of people. The lifestyle guidance we publish alongside it is general wellbeing advice that applies to most people, not something computed from anything personal about you.
What we are not
What Stars Say is not a medical service, an insurance service, or a financial adviser. Our tools do not diagnose, predict, or measure anything about your individual health, and no result we display should be read as a forecast of your personal lifespan.
If a result prompts a real question about your health or your finances, please take that question to a qualified professional. Our Disclaimer sets out the limits of what we publish in full.
Our approach to accuracy
Life-expectancy data changes as populations change, and we update our underlying figures when the published sources we rely on are revised. Where a number is an approximation, we try to say so plainly rather than dress it up with false precision. Where a claim is traditional rather than empirical, we try to label it as such.
We also try not to be alarming. A projected lifespan is not a countdown. It is a rough, population-level average that says very little about any specific person, and the most useful thing to do with it is treat it as an invitation to think about habits, plans, and priorities.

We read everything that arrives. If you have found an error, want to suggest a tool, or simply disagree with how we have framed something, we would genuinely like to hear it. You can reach us on the Contact Us page, or use the details below.
